Picture Farm Gallery is proud to present the imagery of Paul Colt in the gallery space for a one week pop up starting this coming Saturday night.
Mr. Colt has been described as “local zen master of the Lower East Side, a painter and veritable raconteur from some nightmare dreamscape involving Melvin Van Peebles, Gil Scott Heron, Henry Miller, and Louis-Ferdinand Céline.”
And while many don’t know his real name (some say Chavis, Colt, Seale…his alias assumed to avoid heat from his days in the Black Liberation Army) his outside-inside art, his anti-Symbolist hagiography matched with his outsized persona offers a glimpse into a creative mind seldom experienced.
